Johnson J-Latches are uniquely engineered hook latch system
providing outstanding flexibility and durability. Its heavy-duty
design incorporates a steel beem that positively engages a special
recessed area in the hook tip. The removable two-position pin
allows the Johnson J-Latches to function either as a locked bar
or as an automatic spring latch.

Gunnebo Johnson J-Latches meet OSHA requirements and are standard
equipment on Johnson crane blocks through 165 ton capacity, all
Johnson overhaul balls, and swivels. The Gunnebo Johnson J-Latches
are also offered as an option on Johnson snatch blocks.

How To
Identify Which J-Latch To Order |
|
To identify the
current Johnson J-Latch kist to be replaced is simple.
Turn the kit over on the bottom side. Note that
there is engraved a kit stock number. Match this
stock number with the "Latch Kit Part Number" above. |

Assembly Instructions |
1.
Put spring (2) on cam. |
2.
Put proper end of latch (1) into notch
in hook nose. |
3.
Align top holes of latch (1) with hole
in cam. |
4.
Insert grooved pin (3) or screw (6) through
latch (1), spring (2) and cam. |
5.
Snap retaining rings (5) onto grooved
pin (3). When using Button Head
Cap screws in latch assembly, install
lock nut. |
6.
Insert Lockpin (4) into latch (1). |
